Project Details
LCMEE – Lancashire Council of Mosques Energy Efficient Project

The LCM Energy Efficient (LCMEE) project is aimed at reducing the levels of health risks and poverty crisis among vulnerable people who might be affected by fuel poverty within the Blackburn and Darwen area. By working with various local services within the borough, the LCME project will be able to provide up to date and vital information to community groups, work closely with Black Ethnic Minority groups and South Asian communities across Blackburn with Darwen.

The LCMEE project provides essential information, advice and guidance to the above groups within the catchment area – this includes single parents, vulnerable young people, the elderly, the unemployed and the poor.

This project:

  1. Provides practical help and support to the community through referrals
  2. Gives assistance to access grants for essential heating and insulation measures to people with severe health problems
  3. Provides training for new home buyers, parents and the elderly
  4. Signposts individuals to other essential services,
